Are you leaving your apartment because of your land lord? Are you the victim of ‘landlord woes’? Then, this blog is just for you.
At times, people end up with nice apartment but bothersome landlord. When the situation worsens, the best thing to do would be to vacate the apartment peacefully. Continuing to staying there will only prolong your suffering and will damage your relations with your landlord further.
Things to take care of while moving out of an apartment are as follows:
· Make a prior intimation to your landlord as per your lease agreement. Try not to break the lease period as it would lead to further complications like paying extra money for the rest of the period etc.
· Due to unavoidable circumstances if you are moving out before closing of the lease period then you better talk to your landlord.
· Tell him/her the reason behind your move and how it cannot be avoided.
· If he/she still insists that you should pay the amount, then, ask him/her if you can sublet the apartment to somebody else. If he/she agrees, your problem will be solved.
· Avoid seeking judicial help for minor fights or discrepancies with your landlord. Whoever might be the culprit you will end up loosing more money, time and energy. Unless, the matter is that serious or complicated do not go to court.
· Be on amicable terms with your landlord even after you have decided to leave. You need to recover the security deposit right!
· Check the apartment for any minor repairs or leaks that have been caused. Try to give back the apartment in the same state you have taken it for rent.
· Clean the apartment; throw away the junk and then handover the apartment key to your landlord.
